Stolen Car Crashes into JBER Front Gate

JBER Security forces and the police department teamed up to catch a man that stole a vehicle, then crashed into the JBER Muldoon gate.

ANCHORAGE- JBER Security forces and the police department teamed up to catch a man that stole a vehicle, then crashed into the JBER Muldoon gate.

Police described the vehicle as a 2006 black Chevy pick-up with a lift kit, reported stolen from Kenai on Tuesday.

The truck was reportedly spotted by officers driving northbound on Muldoon road when the pursuit began.

According to APD, the suspect and the woman riding in the stolen vehiclerammed an officer's car off the road at 14th and Gambell, then crashed into the into the JBER Muldoon gate chain link fence, where they fled on foot.

APD and JBER security forces safely apprehended the suspect and his female passenger.

The driver and passenger of the stolen pick-up sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident, while the officer whose patrol car was initially rammed was not injured.

Police say the investigation is still on-going.
