Theatre Boot Camp Offers Artistic Outlet for StudentsThe Alaska Theatre of Youth began its Spring Beak Boot Camp Monday (3/11).
ANCHORAGE - The Alaska Theatre of Youth began its Spring Beak Boot Camp Monday (3/11) with 35 children in attendance.
This week participants will learn about mime, dance, voice work, acting and improvisation. "Kids who feel very shy, they can get involved in a group and they can express themselves", said Steven Hunt, camp instructor and director. "All the kids learn to respect each other, they allow each other to express themselves, and there's a real sense of comradery and achievement." Students will be learning and performing a 'play-a-day' with a final performance at the end of the week for their parents. Spring Break Boot Camp is fully booked, but the Alaska Theatre of Youth run programs during most holidays. |
