Treadwell Explores Run For U.S. SenateSharing Idea With Interior Republicans
Lieutenant Governor of Alaska Meade Treadwell is exploring a run for the U.S. Senate in 2014.
Mr. Treadwell was in Fairbanks to give closing remarks at the Alaska Strategic & Critical Minerals Summit, making the announcement while breaking for lunch with a group of Fairbanks Republicans. Although the Lt. Governor is emphasizing that he is exploring the option and not officially throwing his hat into the ring, one political insider is saying the starting flag for the race for senate has just been dropped. Speculation about other Republicans that might make a run at the seat include former Lt. Governor Loren Leman, Governor Sean Parnell and former Senatorial candidate Joe Miller. |
