Troopers Fatally Shoot Armed Suspect on Parks HighwayTroopers fatally shoot a 34-year-old Virginia man after he assaulted two people staying in a cabin near Fairbanks. One victim was shot twice, the other was treated and released.
Troopers shot and killed a 34-year-old Virgina man after he assaulted and shot two people staying in a cabin near Fairbanks.
The victims Brenton Green, 21, of Anchorage and Kimberly Scharber, of Wasilla were at a cabin near mile 270 on the Parks Highway when Atom Ziniewicz confronted them with a handgun. The suspect shot Green twice; he and Scharber were able to run away and call Troopers. Around noon Friday (9/21) Troopers established a perimeter near Mile 270 and attempted to arrest Ziniewicz who was armed. Law enforcement fired at the suspect and he was declared deceased. Next of kin have been notifed. The Troopers names will be released in three days, in accordance with department policy. |

Sounds like a righteous shoot to me! Thank God the troopers got him before he did more damage!
