FAIRBANKS- Alaska State Troopers say a Fairbanks man is accused of punching himself in the face as a ruse to have his neighbor arrested on assault charges.
Troopers on Sunday instead arrested 50-year-old Tony Gesin for filing a false report.
Gesin called troopers about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to report his neighbor assaulted him but troopers say he later admitted to repeatedly punching himself in the face.
The neighbor wasn't charged.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters reports that Gesin and his neighbor have an ongoing property dispute.
There was no phone listing for Gesin, and online court records show he hasn't yet been charged.
