WASILLA - Troopers say a Wasilla man likely drowned while trying to cross a creek Monday. (9/24)

Bart Barnes was hunting with a group who was stranded near mile 80 of the Denali Highway.

Troopers say he tried to cross Butte Creek on an ATV but was swept downstream and disappeared.

Troopers launched a helicopter search but was unable to locate Barnes.

Next of kin have been notified.
