ANCHORAGE--- The community came out for Mary Anne Alexie's candle light vigil Tuesday (11/13), as friends and family honored the Fairbanks woman on her 34th birthday.

Alexie was reported missing after traveling to Anchorage to attend Alaska Career College. On October 10th around 3a.m., reports say Alexie spoke to friends over the phone and mentioned that she was lost in Spenard.

People gathered at the Holiday Inn Express in midtown to pass out flyers and sing hymns. Prayers were said by both attendees and a Russian Orthodox priest for Alexie's safe return.

"I feel grateful, there's a lot of people here to support her and our family, especially a lot of relatives that came," said Alexie's second cousin Rachel Sakar.  "I'm here to pray for her, help my family be strong and just be there for them through this hard time."

Alexie is 4' 11'' tall and weighs 120 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Anchorage Police at 786-8900.

If you would like to donate to Alexie's reward fund you may do so at the Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union. Donors can specify whether the donation goes specifically to Mary Anne Alexie's cause or to Project Angel Eyes.
