Willow dog breeder Frank Rich will be spending six months behind bars for two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

Rich was also sentenced to ten years probation during which time he can not own or care for any animals.

A total of 160 dogs were seized by Alaska State Troopers from Rich last year,19 others were found dead on his property and twenty more had to be put to sleep.

Rich testified that he loved his dogs and now realizes he needed help, spending close to $36,000 on dog food before the situation got out of hand.
