Young Boy Dies in North Pole House Fire

State Troopers say a 5-year-old boy died in a house fire located in North Pole. The fire is believed to have been started by another child in the home.

FAIRBANKS - State Troopers say a 5-year-old boy died in a house fire Friday (2/22) afternoon believed to be started by another child in the home.

Troopers responded to a residential fire on Biathalon Road in North Pole shortly after 4:30 pm. and found the child, Elijah Gayramon, injured. The child was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, but later died as a result from his injuries.

Troopers say the fire was found to have originated in a downstairs bedroom.

An investigation is ongoing.
