BETHEL- Two people in Bethel, including the city manager's son, have been hit by drivers in the community.

Bo Foley, son of Bethel city manager Lee Foley, received minor injuries when he was struck by a truck Friday evening.

The driver, Daisy Mae Barerra of Bethel, has been charged with negligent driving and failure to give aid.

In the other case, 28-year-old Tammy Evan of Akiak was seriously injured when she was struck early Saturday morning. The extent of the woman's injuries was not immediately known and she was flown to Anchorage for treatment after initially being transported to a Bethel hospital.

The cab driver and others told police the woman abruptly appeared on the road. No reckless driving is suspected, and neither is foul play.
