JUNEAU- A Juneau man has been indicted on a federal charge of witness retaliation.

Mason T. Baker was arraigned on Thursday and entered a plea of not guilty. He was ordered detained pending trial.

Baker is accused of assaulting a person identified only as Individual A as retaliation for that person providing testimony in a federal case against Richard Corum.

Corum is awaiting sentencing following his conviction on drug conspiracy and witness tampering charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Schmidt declined to discuss Baker's alleged involvement with a witness in the separate case. The superseding indictment against Corum made no mention of Baker.
