ANCHORAGE- An Anchorage Superior Court jury has convicted a 41-year-old man of sexually assaulting a woman at a homeless camp in Anchorage.

The district attorney's office says in a release that David Standifer was convicted Thursday of sexual assault, two counts of attempted sexual assault and two counts of assault after a three week trial.
He faces between five to 99 years in prison when he's sentenced March 28.
Prosecutors say he punched a woman in the face, broke her nose and strangled her before sexually assaulting her at a homeless camp near Ship Creek in April 2010.
She was able to escape to Commercial Avenue, where a passerby found her bloody and not wearing pants.
