Woman Seriously Injured When Car Hits Building

Alaska State Troopers say a woman was seriously injured when a car driven by her 34-year-old son left the Mitchel Expressway and crashed into the second story of a utility building.

FAIRBANKS- Alaska State Troopers say a woman was seriously injured when a car driven by her 34-year-old son left the Mitchel Expressway and crashed into the second story of a utility building.


Driver Christopher Turco was charged with felony eluding and other counts.


Troopers say an officer Saturday night clocked a sedan at 83 mph driving west on the expressway.


Troopers say the car at an off-ramp car hit a 4-foot dirt hill, traveled 31 feet in the air and hit the building.


The name of the injured woman was not released.


Two children in the car were treated and released at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.


Four arrest warrants had been issued for Turco and his driver's license had been revoked. He remained jailed Monday morning.
