Butcher Resigns as Revenue Commissioner
State Revenue Commissioner Bryan Butcher has resigned his post to take over as CEO of the Alaska Housing Finance Corp.
JUNEAU- State Revenue Commissioner Bryan Butcher has resigned his post to take over as CEO of the Alaska Housing Finance Corp.
The corporation, in an announcement Wednesday, says Butcher's appointment is effective immediately.
Butcher worked for the corporation prior to his appointment as state Revenue commissioner in November 2010. He was the public face of Gov. Sean Parnell's failed effort to rollback oil production taxes during 2012 regular and special legislative sessions.
Parnell's spokeswoman says deputy commissioner Angela Rodell will serve as acting commissioner.
Butcher replaces Dan Fauske, who intends to focus fulltime on efforts to advance an in-state natural gas pipeline project as president of the Alaska Gasline Development Corp.
Alaska Housing Finance spokeswoman Stacy Schubert says Butcher will make $250,000 a year.
