JUNEAU- U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski says she's been "deluged" with calls from constituents, the majority of whom want her to support House efforts to defund President Barack Obama's signature health care law.

Murkowski told reporters there are problems with the law that need to be addressed. But she says Congress wouldn't be getting rid of the law by defunding it for the upcoming fiscal year and says a government shut-down isn't the way to go.
Murkowski said she supports other efforts, such as delaying the individual mandate to buy insurance.
The House last week passed legislation that would continue funding the federal government through mid-December. It includes a provision to defund the health care law. That provision is expected to be stripped in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

For those politicans who do not want to do anything about O'bamacare maybe they should sign up under it to just like everyone else has to. If it is so great and good then it is good enough for them. Also, if any of them in general cannot seem to do their job then they need to get voted out and replaced with someone who will do their job.

If Lisa doesn't have the courage to support the wishes of her constituents, perhaps she should step down to allow somebody willing to take her spot. Her and Mark Begich both do a poor job of representing their employers, but a great job in looking after themselves and their elitist friends. Let's get Mark out of there because he sold out the country for millions in campaign money and a seat on a committee, and we have this upcoming election as a golden opportunity to rid ourselves of him. Then perhaps we can look at getting Lisa on the retirement bus. Obamacare is a bad rash on America, creating more financial pain and civil unrest than it can ever be worth. It also allows the government to control every aspect of every life without reason, or cause. Modern day slavery to the government. Resist and they have the power to take away your healthcare, which in some cases would mean your life. Nice going Begich.

Whoa there! A politician who sounds reasonable. You let the law take effect, see what works what doesn't and then build a repub majority and fix it. It is anti-American, anti-democracy for the minority to bring the government to a halt. Especially such a small majority.
