JUNEAU- Filling a pair of big shoes in Juneau this week is Representative Chris Tuck as he takes over for former house minority leader, Beth Kertulla.

Kertulla announced her resignation last week on the House floor.

She's accepted a position with her alma mater, Sandford University.

With little shortage of excitement so far this go round, Representative Chris Tuck says he is sad to see her go but excited about his new adventure in the House.

"She brought a lot of history, a lot of institutional knowledge, a lot of experience, a lot of skill. Growing up in the Capitol as well as serving in the Capitol, she is going to be greatly missed. I am proud that my colleagues have selected me to be their leader. It is a position that I will take very seriously, and I appreciate their trust and faith in me and I will do my best to make sure we do our best."

Kertulla has a one year fellowship with the university.
