ANCHORAGE, AK- Students at Machetanz Elementary celebrated the acquisition of nearly 1,000 acres of land, thanks to a purchase by Great Land Trust.

The newly acquired land will serve as a habitat to five different species of salmon, moose, coyotes, and various types of birds.

This new land will give students at the science orientated school an opportunity for hands-on learning about about the culture, habitat and wildlife that it provides.
