For 23 years, officers of Indian country law enforcement have been honored at this Arizona memorial site with a service. Thursday, two men are added to the list of more than 100 fallen officers. Alaskan village public safety officer Thomas Madole and Sgt. Robert Baron from New Mexico.

VPSO Madole was shot and killed last march while responding to a report of domestic violence. This site is built on foundations from traditional Indian cultures. A circle of life surrounds the monument and each morning cadets are brought there for daily inspection and reflection.

Officer Madole joins a list with two other Alaskans already on the memorial. Hoonah police officers Matthew Tokuoka and Sgt. Anthony Wallace were added in 2010.

Names on the memorial date back to the mid 1800's. Dozens of public safety memorials are scheduled throughout the rest of month.
