Anchorage, AK -- Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport has been named the 2019 Best Air Cargo Airport in North America at an awards ceremony.
The awards are voted on by companies in the freight, logistics, and supply chain industry throughout Asia.
“This award clearly demonstrates to business leaders across North America and around the world that the State of Alaska is open for business,” said Governor Dunleavy. Dunleavy added that “Our geographic location, business friendly environment and excellent airport facilities are here to serve a wide range of industries looking for new growth opportunities.”
Anchorage is the world’s fifth busiest air cargo airport and handles just under 3 million metric tons of air cargo per year. Asia to North America is the world’s largest air cargo trade lane and 79% of all Asia to North America freighter aircraft take advantage of Anchorage's strategic location, excellent service, and special air cargo transfer rights to run more efficient air cargo operations.
