Attorneys for Kenneth Manzanares, the man accused of murdering his wife on a cruise to Alaska are trying to avoid going to trial. The attorneys say they're trying to resolve the case short of trial by coming to an agreement on a plea. They also say they've sought expert help in examining Manzanares. Tests were done to address his mental state at the time of his wife's death.
U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Burgess has moved the proposed trial date from May to September to give parties more time to talk.
