Regional Flight's Landing Gear Fails in Alaska

HOMER- The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating what caused a regional airline flight with 16 people aboard to suffer a landing gear failure as it arrived in Homer, Alaska.


NTSB spokesman Clint Johnson says no one was injured in the incident involving an Era Alaska twin-turboprop Wednesday afternoon. Thirteen passengers and three crew members were aboard.


Johnson reported that the Beechcraft 1900 sustained "substantial damage."


Era Alaska provides scheduled airline service to more than 100 communities throughout Alaska.
