The Blood Bank of Alaska is in critical need for donors.
Officials at the Blood Banks say that to keep Alaska hospitals supplied, it takes an average of 100 donors a day, and they currently need help to fill that quota at area hospitals. Right now they need blood types O negative and O positive.
To maintain the blood supply in Alaska, about 700 donations are needed every week. Blood Bank of Alaska has five centers in four cities, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla and Juneau.
