Two Anchorage-based employees for the Alaska National Park Service were killed in a plane crash outside of Whitehorse, Canada.
On Monday, 56-year-old Charles Benson of Palmer and 58-year-old Jeffrey Babcock of Wasilla were taking off from Yukon Territory on their way to Anchorage when their Cessna 170 crashed into trees about 2,000 ft. off the end of the runway. Both men died on scene.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has sent a team to investigate the cause of the crash.
