ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Dozens of volunteers headed to a shelter in downtown Anchorage to help clean-up the area.  Bag after bag, hundreds of people rolled up their sleeves for united ways day of caring at different locations across anchorage.

Men and woman with the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company were at the Brother Francis Shelter to help clean up the campus by assisting in many different ways... some helped by picking up trash, removing graffiti or repainting parts of the building.

One volunteer we talked to said by cleaning up parts of Anchorage it can also cut back on crime by people taking pride in their neighborhoods.

This event for United Way is Anchorages single largest corporate volunteer day each year.
