At 11:15 a.m. a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck just 7 miles from Anchorage with a depth of about 37 miles. 

It was a hard but quick jolt felt by many in Anchorage and even by some in the Mat-Su Valley and Kenai Peninsula. 

USGS originally reported the quake as a 4.1, but was later downgraded to a 4.0.
