While flu season never really ends, it is spiking in Alaska right now.
The number of flu cases from January is far above average, with 1,279 confirmed cases. That's more than 15x the number of cases recorded in December. The spike is statewide, but most dramatic in the Anchorage, Matsu, and Interior areas.
As a reminder, you can get a flu shot at most participating pharmacies or from your primary care provider.
