Former Kenai Hockey Coach Sentenced in Sex Abuse Case

Kenai, AK -- Bradley Elliott, a former JV Hockey coach at Kenai Central High School, was sentenced to 62 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor and possession of child pornography.

Elliott pleaded guilty on a total of fifteen charges involving the sexual abuse of six minors, one charge of possession of child pornography, and eight charges of indecent photography.

Although sentenced to 62 years in prison, 42 of those years were suspended. He was also fined $300,000.

In addition, a civil suit has been filed by Elliott's victims against the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and the Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association.  The suit claims the two organizations failed to “warn students” and alleges negligent hiring, training and supervision

According to court documents, the suit seeks damages in excess of $100,000 for “psychological and counseling expenses, rehabilitation expenses, physical injury, emotional distress, pain and suffering, inconvenience and loss of enjoyment of life.”
