FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A Fairbanks man has been charged with
assault after an Alaska State Trooper suffered a broken collarbone
during an arrest.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that 24-year-old Illya
Dangelo Wilks-Brown was also charged with making a false report
after troopers were given a false name when he showed up at an
apartment where drug enforcement officers were conducting an
investigation.
According to a criminal complaint filed in court, Wilks-Brown
attempted to run away when the false identification was discovered
by troopers Ryan Webb and Steve Goetz.
The troopers grabbed him but Wilks-Brown resisted, causing all
three to fall to the bottom of the front steps to the apartment.
Webb was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where X-rays
revealed a broken collarbone.
