2 Fort Wainwright Soldiers Die in Afghanistan

Specialist James Burnett, 22, and Private First Class Matthew Colin, 22, died while on a mounted patrol in Kandahar Province.

Two Fort Wainwright soldiers are killed in Afghanistan.
Specialist James Burnett, 22, and Private First Class Matthew Colin, 22, were assigned to the 1st battalion, 5th infantry regiment, 1st stryker brigade combat team, 25th infantry division at Fort Wainwright.
The soldiers died while on a mounted patrol by an improvised explosive device. Three other soldiers in the brigade were injured in the same incident.
Next of kin has been notified.
