Alaska Airlines cancels all flights to and from Boston, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. due to storm Sandy.

The travel advisory came as the storm system moves into the northeast bringing with it heavy winds, rain, snow and sleet. As of Monday (10/29) evening more than 8 million people are without power. Emergency evacuations have been declared throughout the region and historic coastal flooding is occurring along NY Harbor and lower Manhattan.

Alaska Air is providing options to reschedule or rebook flights without incurring the standard change fees for all passengers ticketed to, from or through Boston, Newark, Philadelphia or Washington, DC.

If your flight plans are affected, you can change your flight online or call:
Alaska Airlines Reservations: 1-800-252-7522 (TTY/TDD: 1-800-682-2221)

Alaska Airline pilots are the bravest pilots, we have some bad weather up here in Alaska and the Aleutian islands - wow, talk about weather - the pilots that have to fly there they can fly in any bad weather and also know when NOT too. I feel safe in their hands

I think that Alaska Airlines pilots would be the only ones I would want to fly me into that storm if I had to go. Talk about some people who have experience flying in severe weather
