FAIRBANKS- The U.S. Army has warned Richardson Highway motorists that they may hear loud noises next week.
Soldiers from the Stryker brigade at Fort Wainwright will be firing live AT-4 anti-tank rockets on the small arms complex Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Soldiers from the brigade's 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment will fire nearly 50 rounds.
Residents living near the range as well as motorists on the Richardson Highway may feel vibrations and hear the explosions.
The AT-4 is an 84-mm unguided, portable, single-shot recoilless smooth-bore weapon built in Sweden.
