Man Dies in Suspected Anchorage Hit-And-Run

Anchorage police say a 36-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday morning on the Old Seward Highway.

ANCHORAGE- Anchorage police say a 36-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday morning on the Old Seward Highway.


Police are investigating the death as a hit-and-run.


Police say the man has been identified but his next-of-kin has not been notified.


Police say a passer-by just before 3 a.m. spotted the fatally injured man lying on the Old Seward Highway near 69th Avenue.


Officers and emergency medical personnel say the man was dead at the scene and appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.


Police are seeking witnesses.
