ANCHORAGE - Alaska State Troopers say the body of a missing 61-year-old woman from the community of Tonsina has been found in a log-jammed creek near her home.

Troopers say Linda Poplin was reported missing Tuesday by friends who said they were drinking with her at her home Monday night. According to troopers, the friends said Poplin was highly intoxicated.

Troopers say they searched the immediate area with no success.

Troopers say a search continued Wednesday and a local volunteer found Poplin's body, which was partially visible under water in Squirrel Creek and trapped under a log jam.

An autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner's office.

Troopers say no foul play is suspected.

Tonsina is an unincorporated community of about 90 people located 52 miles northeast of Valdez.
