FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A new bridge is carrying traffic over the Chena River in Fairbanks.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (http://is.gd/Oi7E2I) the first traffic on the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Monday was a parade of antique cars carrying veterans.

The bridge connects southbound Illinois Street with Barnette Street.

The Cushman Street Bridge now is a one-way northbound bridge.
