Monday protesters on the west coast made a group effort to block local ports from Anchorage to San Diego.
They dubbed Monday "occupy the ports". Protestors say their goal is to shut operations down at the point of production. In land locked cities, protesters attempted to shut down Walmart distribution centers. They say they are standing in solidarity with all the occupy movements around the nation.
"Mayors across the country did this coordinated shutdown of occupies just the week before," said Tina Robinson, an occupy protestor. "So occupies everywhere were getting evicted and they were like, you know to combat the one percent coming down and hurting our voices we're going to hurt their economic you know, presence."
There have been some arrests in other parts of the country, but none in anchorage.
