FAIRBANKS- A 21-year-old Fairbanks man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death two years ago of a 51-year-old acquaintance after an argument.

Cornelius Everett Jr. was scheduled to go on trial Monday on a charge of second-degree murder.
He instead reached an agreement with prosecutors that calls for accepting a 15-year-prison term in the death of Johnson Griffin.
Griffin in June 2011 was found dead in his Northward Building apartment.
A medical examiner determined Griffin died of blunt force trauma to his chest.
Investigators say Everett and Griffin got into an argument and Everett assaulted Griffin.
Everett will be sentenced in October.
