A month-old polar bear cub who became an internet sensation last week has opened his eyes for the first time.
Siku, a polar bear cub, is being raised by humans at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park in Kolind, 105 miles (170 kilometres) northwest of the Danish capital Copenhagen, after his mother failed to produce enough milk to feed him.
Thousands watched the little bear on the internet last week, but his eyes were closed to the world.
But the latest photos posted on the park's website show the cub with his eyes open. The cub, who was born on 22 November, now weighs 7 pounds (3.2 kilograms). He was 3 pounds (1.8 kilograms) at birth.
The cub was two days old when he was taken away from his mother. Park manager Frank Vigh-Larsen said Siku would have been in danger of death if he had stayed with his mother.
Three people are giving round-the-clock care to the cub at the zoo.
