FAIRBANKS - The body of a 9-year-old boy has been recovered from a crevasse in an Alaska glacier.

Alaska State Troopers say the body of Shjon (SHAWN) Brown of Fairbanks was recovered early this morning. The boy was on a snowmobile outing Saturday with his father and others in the Hoodoo Mountains.
His father told troopers Shjon drove around a small mound and did not reappear.
Officials say the boy fell an estimated 200 feet into the crevasse through a moulin (moo-LAN'), a hole formed when water on the glacier surface erodes ice below.

It is a tragedy, but who in their right mind lets a nine-year old take off on a snowmachine? Would you let your son drive your truck down the highway? Parents need to take responsibility.
