Cat Owner Speaks Against Animal Control

by Maggie Young

A man charged with animal cruelty last Saturday claims that Animal Control is mistreating is pets.

Officials say that Jim Hershberger was keeping his 22 cats outside in a vehicle.

All of the felines were kept in crates with no access to food or water.

The vehicle was heated by a generator in frigid, negative temperatures.

Hershberger admitted that the animals' vaccinations were expired.

Although Animal Control called the conditions unlivable, Hershberger said that things are even worse for the felines in the shelter.

He claimed that his cats are underfed and being kept in warm conditions that they are not used to.

He believes that his pets were taken illegally and that he is fighting to get them back.
