It was a busy Friday afternoon for police in downtown Anchorage, as officers responded to two vehicle collisions including one SUV that struck two pedestrians and another that pushed a sedan into a downtown hotel.
The first of the collisions took place at 1:07 pm when a blue Honda Pilot driven by 38- year-old Brandy Brandy Cicchetti collided with two pedestrians that were walking through the cross walk at the intersection of 6th Ave and G Street.
One of the two pedestrians, 25-year-old David Ketron, was trapped under the front of the vehicle and pushed about 15 feet down the road
Police say Ketron suffered a seizure following the accident, but officers say the man has a history of seizures, and it is unknown if the seizure was caused by the vehicle collision. Ketron also suffered a sprained shoulder in the accident.
Police say the other pedestrian suffered only minor injuries. His name has not yet been released.
In a second crash just minutes later a Chevy HHR operated by Coca-Cola of Alaska crashed into a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of 5th Avenue and I street.
The crash pushed the corolla into the corner of the Hotel Captain Cook. A.P.D. says there were no injuries in the crash, and the hotel suffered minimal damage.
