NFB Holds Annual State Convention
The Alaska National Federation of the Blind held their annual State Convention to discuss the improvements and updates in technology that will aid community members.
ANCHORAGE - The National Federation of the Blind of Alaska held their annual State Convention this weekend at the Westmark Hotel in downtown Anchorage.
The group says that they advocate for the blind and want to promote their vocational, cultural and social advancement.
Speakers gathered to also discuss the improvements and updates in technology that will aid community members.
Organizers say the goal was to showcase the work of the states three local chapters and discuss ways to improve life for members of the blind community.
"We can all grow together because Alaska is the Last Frontier," said Alaska NFB President Jim Burton. "But to me its the first frontier in fighting blindess".
