The organization behind the Pebble Mine project held a stakeholder meeting this afternoon. Native tribes and local fisheries gathered outside to protest and voice their opposition.

Over a hundred supporters came out to protest the stakeholder meeting of a group known as the Keystone Center, based in Keystone, Colorado The group held a dialogue on the principles, criteria and standards for responsible large-scale mining.

After interviewing people regarding the potential of the Pebble Mine project in the Anchorage, Bristol Bay Region and Kenai Peninsula since 2008, the Keystone Center kept the option open to evaluate how it might happen.

The opposing group, largely from the Bristol Bay region, says since the Pebble Partnership is paying for Keystone, it won't give an accurate account of scientific data.
