Former Soldier Gets Life in Prison

FAIRBANKS-. Aaron Rentfrow has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife.Tonya Rentfrow was found strangled in her home January 10. The former army mental health technician was found guilty Wednesday according to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The ten member panel returned the guilty verdict after a day and a half of testimony and about two hours of deliberation. Under the UCMJ it takes a two-thirds majority of a panel to convict someone of a crime,

Unlike the civilian court the case must still go to the commander of the U.S. Army Alaska for review before it becomes final. Rentfrow will serve his time at The United States Penitentiary (USP), Leavenworth , Kansas.
