On Friday afternoon a small plane carrying four people crashed on the northside of Tern Lake, leaving only one survivor.
The victims have been tentatively identified as Anchorage residents, 73-year-old Scott Christy and his wife, 69-year-old Jean Tam. Christy was the pilot of the aircraft.
29-year-old Suzanne Glass of Virginia was also a victim in the crash. The lone survivor, 28-year-old Andrea Cooper of Virginia is at an Anchorage hospital in critical condition. The two were on a vacation to Alaska with friends at the time.
Poor visibility due to the Swan Lake Fire may have contributed to the crash, but the cause is still under investigation.
