KODIAK- Nine volunteers from Kodiak Island Search and Rescue have left the city of Kodiak to assist in the search for a missing island man.

Alaska State Troopers say 20-year-old Brandon Phillips of Akhiok is missing. Troopers say he may have drowned while kayaking in the Moser Bay area while under the influence of alcohol.
Phillips early Saturday left the village 150 miles southwest of the city of Kodiak on an all-terrain vehicle and said he was going to hike. He was reported missing Saturday night.
Search parties found an ATV and a kayak.
The Coast Guard launched helicopter searches of the water Sunday. Troopers say the water search ended there's little chance of survival after eight hours.
Troopers and the volunteers will continue a ground search.
