FAIRBANKS- A coalition of Alaska Native groups is trying to increase voter turnout through music.

A Hunt-Fish-Share Rock the Native Vote Concert is scheduled for Wednesday night at Hering Auditorium in Fairbanks.

The concert was scheduled to coincide with the annual convention of the Alaska Federation of Natives.

Gwich'in Steering Committee director Princess Lucaj says she was discouraged by voter turnout this fall in Alaska.

She says young adults could raise voter turnout next year.

She says the Hunt-Fish-Share theme emphasizes the need to support Native subsistence.

The headliner for the concert is Robby Romero.
