NENANA- The Nenana Senior Center has been given deed to land which authorities hope will lead to a new building.

The cramped senior center has stood in the center of town for about three decades. It serves many purposes, including as the meeting place for the city council, other groups and a community center hosting birthday parties and holiday meals.

Officials this week received the deed to 2.8 acres of land, a donation from Crowley Petroleum. Officials with the senior center hope this will one day be home to a new, more spacious senior center.
