Alaska's congressional delegation have secured a face-to-face meeting between Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and a King Cove delegation.
Several residents will speak personally to the challenges of getting from king cove to the all-weather airport in Cold Bay. The Interior Secretary is responsible for deciding whether the project moves forward. Both Representative Don young and Senator Lisa Murkowski have threatened to hold up Congressional confirmation of his replacement Sally Jewell if Salazar does not take action. |

It is nice to see our Congressional delegation doing something to help local residents. I hope it does some good. My main concern is this being done for the good of King Cove or just to get more publicity. Good luck to the residents of King Cove and I hope you find a way to gain reasonable access to emergency health care.
