ANCHORAGE - A Kiana man will spend nearly three years in a federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The U.S. attorney's office in a release says 48-year-old George Gray was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Anchorage.

Prosecutors say an intoxicated and armed George met Alaska State Troopers when they went to his home to investigate allegations of assault April 4. He's not allowed to have firearms because of a previous felony conviction.
