Four time Iditarod champion violated probation

Alaska State Troopers arrested Iditarod musher Lance Mackey Saturday for violating his conditions of release after he was pulled over for speeding

In a dispatch Troopers report that Mackey was stopped on the Richardson highway at 8:45 a.m., and arrested for violating conditions of release in relation to a 2013 case that remains open.

Court documents reveal Mackey was arrested June 6, 2013 for driving under the influence and for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test.

Mackey was take to the Fairbanks jail and released after posting a reduced bail of $2,500.

He is expected to appear in court again on monday
